Carolina found her start during a 3 year stint as an opinionated panelist on "MTV Hits." Her latest film, "Black & Blue" (releasing May '10) features her in a lead role as homeless teen street musician Teresa alongside Canadian artist Christine Evans and blues-man Zach Harmon. Of her previous starring vehicles, "Safehouse" opposite Thomas Calabro" is available worldwide on DVD and Roses of April" continues to play the festival circuit, recently playing in NYC's NewFilmMakers series. "Rapture," and "Through Different Eyes" are in various stages of post production.
Along with acting, Carolina is also a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She is currently performing in the indie-folk-pop music duo Two Birds with Ken Franklin. Two Birds was scouted while performing and featured in a Motorola Music campaign showcasing them as up-and-coming musicians. Prior to Two Birds, Carolina shared the stage with Ryan Adams and Jesse Malin while fronting the NYC rock band Morgan Ave. When she's not busy filming or recording with Two Birds, she continues to write and record her debut solo album. The 1st single "Darlin" was featured live in a promo for Big Shot Live, produced by Madonna's Maverick Entertainment. New Regency Films produced a music video and a Summer '09 release is expected. As a solo artist, she has performed alongside INXS' Andrew Farris and was invited to open a private party at the home of Eddie Van Halen before Eddie and members of GNR's Dizzy Reed, Motley Crue's John Corabi and Snakepit's and Jellyfish's Eric Dover took the stage. Ford Fusion named her Artist of the month and her song "Waiting For You" can be found on their Studio D compilation as well as the films "Through Different Eyes," and "Right out of the Relationship Rulebook for Girls on Guys." "Rock My Game" a hip-hop collaboration with MC Ra and DJ Caspr, is featured on the 4th Zoo York skateboarding DVD. The film "Black And Blue" features her performing her original music live in the film.
Through a desire to expand on the growing appreciation for her sharply opinionated choices, evident by her growing fan base on Myspace, Carolina added Film/TV producer to her resume with the indie film talk show "Downtown Film Fest" (Gill Holland, Adrienne Shelly)--which screened at both VAIL FILM FESTIVAL and Independent Television Festival--and the reality pilot trailer "Succubusters," both of which she also co-hosts.
In addition to her career initiatives, Carolina makes time for her favorite charities. Either through music or acting, she has performed to benefit Hollywood Media Arts Youth programs, Women's Rights, Multiple Sclerosis, LIFEbeat's Hearts & Voices Program (Music Industry fights AIDS,) Pediatric AIDS, The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and at the Breast Cancer Race for the Cure. As a teenager, along with her Mother, a breast cancer victim, she would co-host and perform at fundraisers for the Beatriz Mujica Scholarship Fund, named after her late Grandmother, who worked tirelessly with inner-city youth at the Latin American Youth Center in Washington, DC.
